--------------------------
Call for patent disclosure:

- No one declared a patent.

-----
Opens:

Arpad: Nearly done with the [External Circuit] clarification BIRD

Arpad: Anders Eckholm from Ericsson has asked good questions about static
overshoot thresholds on the IBIS reflector.

Michael M: The ICM group is finishing Touchstone work
- Will integrate with this group (ATM) after.

-------------
Review of ARs:

- David Banas report Xilinx position on LTI assumption for SerDes
  - TBD

- AMI BIRD authors meet to prove AMI BIRD can handle Mellitz cases
  - Todd: we need real part data
  - We decided to leave this AR on the list.

- Walter coordinate completion of true diff BIRD draft
  - In progress

- Michael M. draft Eye keywords for true diff BIRD
  - In progress

- Randy draft derating keywords for true diff BIRD
  - In progress

- Arpad: Write parameter passing syntax proposal (BIRD draft)
for *-AMS models in IBIS that is consistent with the
parameter passing syntax of the AMI models
  - TBD

- TBD: Propose a parameter passing syntax for the SPICE
  - [External ...] also?
  - TBD

- Arpad: Review the documentation (annotation) in the macro libraries.
  - Deferred until a demand arises or we have nothing else to do

-------------
New Discussion:

Randy Wolff presented "Slew Rate Derating in IBIS":
- Slide 4:
  - The "i" stands for "input"
  - These diagrams are from JEDEC
- Slide 6:
  - Walter: "Convex" and "Concave" describe the condition better than
    "non-monotonic"
- Slide 9:
  - JEDEC derating tables are actually regular
    - The columns are each offset by fixed amounts.
    - The full flexibility of the format is not used.
  - Michaal Mirmak: Why can't we just say it's DDR3 and have vendors
implement the derating according to spec?
    - Randy: Sometimes we want other deratings
- Slide 11:
  - Some slew rate combinations are not supported in the table
  - Randy proposes ignoring this
- Slide 12:
  - IBIS tables here seem to be copied from another slide
- Slide 14:
  - Bob: diff_ac_ac is missing
    - Walter: this is not needed
  - [Receiver Thresholds] sensitivity mechanism doesn't work here
    - No single sensitivity value will reproduce the JEDEC table
    - Might be better to have typ/min/max
- Slide 15:
  - Mike L: do [Derate Setup] and [derate Hold] have to be separate?
    - Bob: setup and hold might have different references
  - Randy: V and T are separate numbers
    - We might consider a single slew rate value
    - May be awkward to give values like 2Gv/s
- Slide 16:
  - May need [Standard Selector] for different scenarios

Next meeting: 4 Mar 2007 12:00pm PT
